
Thermomix Beetroot and Horta – Steamed Greens
When travelling the Greek islands, every night we would have fresh seafood and salads. The beetroot and horta was definitely on the menu at night. The horta which are steamed greens would be one of the most authentic salads to have on the islands. So simple, yet a staple with meals.
It is common for this dish to accompany your lunch or dinner with your steamed fish, souvlaki sticks, souvla, or any mezzes. It is a very light and tasty side dish to enjoy.
The full beetroot and horta recipe is exclusively featured in the Salad Collection cookbook. For that reason, the quantities and steps are not listed in this blog post. - walnuts (optional)
- water
- small beetroots
- bunch of greens – vlita amaranth greek greens, win choy Chinese spinach, spinach or silverbeet
- olive oil
- white vinegar
- salt

- you could add some feta to the beetroot if you preferred
