How to use your Thermomix to make an omelette

August 4, 2019 by Chrystalla Tzaneros Leave a Comment

Did you know you can use your Thermomix to make omelettes? I want to step you through a few options to making a delicious omelette.

Chop your ingredients

Firstly, you can use your Thermomix to chop up some ingredients. I share how to do this in this post. I have a list of what you can use those chopped ingredients for. But you can just chop up what you need for that omelette also. In the long run, this will make it a lot easier to whip one up.

Pre Prepped Salad Ingredients

Add flavour depth to your omelette

Secondly, try adding depths of flavour by browning your meats and onions with some butter or oil. You can do this in your Thermomix, a fry pan or omelette cooker as I show in the video above.

Use your Thermomix to blend your eggs

Next, use the Thermomix to blend your eggs together. You can pour the egg mixture straight onto some baking paper on the varoma tray for steaming. Or if your prefer, into the frypan and then top with the other chopped ingredients.

Add any extras to your omelette

Try adding all the chopped ingredients to the blended egg in the Thermomix. This could include anything extra you might be using like cheese and baby spinach. Just mix it 10 seconds/reverse/speed 1. You can also add the chopped ingredients to an omelette maker as I do in the video. Then just pour the blended egg on top. Now you just have to decide on your cooking method.

Omelette Steamed in the Thermomix

Choose how to cook your omelette

Finally, you need to choose how you want to cook your omelette. This could be steamed on some baking paper in your varoma tray on your thermomix. Or in a fry pan if you like it a bit browner and a little more dense. I show you in my video to cook it in an omelette maker. However, you could also do it in an egg or pie cooker. These devices all work in helping to cook it to perfection.

Now you can sit back and enjoy your quick and easy Thermomix made omelette. It’s a regular one in this house!

Mezze is a beautiful cookbook filled with absolutely delicious recipes. Each and every recipe is designed to be shared and enjoyed with family and friends... which is of course, the best way to eat! This is definitely my favourite cookbook for entertaining!

  • Robyn Wellfare

Truely a stunning book with the most beautiful recipes and charming family stories that shows the love that these generous women have for their family & culture.
I feel honoured to be an early owner of their first foray into cookbook publishing “Mezze” and I feel (certainly hope) it won’t be their last. And an added bonus is that these beautiful recipes are written in an easy to follow format. Love your work Ladies

So gorgeously presented, you can feel the love of family oozing from between it’s pages, bringing a sense of home to each amazing recipe. This brings back some wonderful childhood memories of family dinners and the mouth watering smells wafting through the house. Thank you for “Thermomixing” the recipes to make it easier to recreate them for my family. Well done girls!!!

  • Sarah

I have made two items so far from the cook book. The traditional greek yogurt, so yummy and so easy. I was happy I could make it thicker than I usually buy it. I also made the rice pudding which was amazing and also very easy. I normally don’t like rice pudding so was very happy with the recipe. I’m looking forward to cooking all the other yummy recipes especially the cheeses and the souvlaki.

Amazingly, the girls were able to cater for us (with the weird and wonderful selection of foods that don’t work for us!) We felt like we had won the food lottery!

  • Kerensa

I'm so excited to be making Greek food from scratch! My first bosses were Greek, nearly 20 years ago, I still remember the flavours, scents and brilliance of their food as they cooked for the family.
