Thermomix Hulled Millet
Here is a recipe to cook hulled millet in your Thermomix. This is a gluten free grain often used in recipes because of its natural nutty flavour and fluffy texture. I like to use hulled millet as a substitute for rice or quinoa. It is also a great base for a salad or as a side for dinner. Millet can also be used in granola, to thicken soups or as a substitute for oats in porridge.
The full hulled millet recipe is featured in the Salad Collection cookbook. It is a great grain to use in tabouli or a salad bowl.

INGREDIENTS
- 1000g water
- 300g hulled millet
STEPS
- Add water (1000g) to the bowl and set the small simmering basket into position.
- Weigh hulled millet (300g) and cook for 20 minutes/steaming temperature/speed 4.
COOKING TIP
- Dry roast the millet before cooking, to enhance it’s natural nutty flavour. Add millet to the bowl and dry roast for 5 minutes/100 degrees/reverse/speed 1. Then tip into small simmering basket to cook as per instructions.
