We hope that you are spoiling your mum with lots of love and kisses today.
If you are a mum, then we hope that you are getting lots of love and kisses from your children.
If your mum is no longer here with you, then let us give you a big virtual hug and a story about this beautiful red rose.
Chrystalla lost her mother-in-law a few months ago. We get very teary just saying that. It’s hard to lose someone you love. Especially when your family is still growing.
She bought this red rose for her mother-in-law. Isn’t it beautiful?
The rose has been specially preserved and it doesn’t need any water.
Preserving Our Family Recipe
When we remember our mothers, we often remember the food that they cook for us. A lot of time spent with our mothers is in the kitchen. They are memories that we never want to forget especially the food that we cook together for special occasions such as birthday parties, family dinners, Easter and Christmas.
Our mother’s recipes are important to us. We don’t want to lose them.
This is one of the reasons why we are writing a cookbook. It is to preserve the recipes that have been passed down to us from our mothers, our yiayias and our theas. We are honouring the women in our family but sharing these recipes and cooking them for our own children.
What is your mother’s best recipe?
Today, take the time to ask her for it.
Make sure you write it down so that it can always be remembered.
