Mezze Book Update – November 2016
We have some news to share about the print version of our cookbook MEZZE! Yay 🙂 Our printing partners have recently sent us a colour proof of the cookbook and we have given our final approval. We had to check the size, the ribbon pattern, the touch and feel of the paper, the colour consistency and the thickness of the front cover – as it is a HARD cover book. Here is a sneak peek…
Fed Ex Packages
Two packages arrived. One was a blank book (to check size and thickness) and the other package had all the colour prints for proofing.
Colour Proofs
The page proofs were double checked for colour clarity as well as paper thickness. We personally like the pages to have a nice thick feel. The front cover will be printed with a matt finish but will also have a laminate over the top for protection and a bit of shine. Each of these pages will be cropped to fit the book size which is slightly shorter than A4.
Ribbon
The ribbon will be a bright orange colour with our doily pattern printed on one side. The other side of the ribbon is plain orange. We love ribbons and wanted to include it in our cookbook even though it was a little bit more expensive to include.
Front Cover
Please don't judge this cover too much just yet…. we only had a blank book and a colour proof of the cover. So, to get this photo we had to wrap the cover around the book. This gave us a really good idea of what the book would look like. The top and the bottom still needs to be slightly cropped in line with the size of the book. We are really happy with the outcome and we hope you like it too.
What's Next
The first print run of the books has commenced this week. We hope it will be completed by the end of next week. The books will then be shipped to us. As soon as we receive the books we will package them and post it out to you. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey.
