Yemista – Stuffed vegetables

Yemista can be prepared in many different ways. Some people prefer to stuff tomatoes whilst other people like a variety of vegetables. You could use just mince or add some herbs. It can also be made as a vegetarian dish. You can be as creative as you like when you make the filling. Be sure to check out the recipe for my Yiayia's (Grandmas) Yemista here.
Bolognese for pasta

This is one of my husbands family speciality dishes. The magic is in the sauce so don't leave any of those ingredients out.
Koupes – Savoury meat rolls

These little rolls are a Cypriot delicacy. Each roll needs to be made with love and care, especially during the stages of shaping and frying but they are definitely worth the effort.
Pastichio – Greek Pasta Bake

Greek Lasagna Pasta Bake is a specialty recipe of my grandmas. She is know for the thickest, creamiest, smoothest bechamel sauce which is the star of her pastisio. It is the recipe everyone asks her to make for every event we have.
Meat balls Keftedes

My yiayia’s keftedes have so many memories attached to them and I love the fact that they have been passed down to her from her mum. Every time she makes them, my papou would come into the kitchen and ‘taste test’ them and say ‘afta einai poly oraia’ (these are very nice)!
Hamburger patties

This is one of the easiest and quickest recipes for a quick week night meal and especially if you are feeding a crowd. Stay tuned as the recipe is to be released VERY soon but I had to still add it to the list.
Dolmathes – Stuffed vine leaves

My husband’s yiayia, Barbara taught me how to make these dolmades. Essentially you can stuff the vine leaves with anything you like. But don't worry if you cant find fresh vine leaves, you can usually buy them in tins or jars or you could use cabbage or spinach leaves too.
Sheftalia – Cypriot meat rolls

One of my absolute favourite Cypriot dishes. It may seem like a simple dish but when you bite into one of these you'll have your taste buds dancing.
